Half Marathon training completed: 13.1 miles at 2h 10min
The last few weeks of the training were switched up a little. I didn’t get a chance to run an official 10K race and finished 1 less week of actual training even thought it took longer than 12 weeks due to a break in the middle. It was a great experience and with some advise some one gave me at the beginning “to be flexible in your training” I didn’t get discouraged or quit in the middle.
October 3rd 2009
After several attempts to get back in to running since high school, I recently realized how much I loved it and missed it. I have been running since mid June 2009 regularly. At that time I could barely run a half mile, a long way off from my cross-country and track days. So I started a couch to 5K program to get me started and to help me stay focused. Goals are important and keep me motivated.
Now that I have complete the C to 5k program and am running 4.5 -5 miles regularly I decided to train for a half marathon and will be tracking my progress and thoughts along the way here.
After searching for a plan to follow, I found Hal Higdon’s Training Program and decided to start with this and make modifications along the way if needed.
