DP decided recently he wanted to go vegetarian and I am taking full advantage of this opportunity. I never really enjoyed eating meat anyways. Growing up on a farm seemed to have turned me off the enjoyment people seem to have when eating a steak. So now I am on a mission to find vegetarian dishes that will provide our family with the nutrients we need and ways to sneak in new veggies :) .

February 21st 2010:

You’ve probably noticed I have a little slack on the meal planning pics and calorie counts. I have decided it’s not the calories that’s important, but actually what you put in your body. I have decided to cut anything out that has high fructose syrup in it and am trying to eat more organic foods. Small steps. As for the meal planning, it’s been going alone well, but we have repeats of meals and I don’t see the need to post doubles.

January 1st 2010:

I have decided to start meal planning for dinners only and will be using this blog to help me keep track and motivated. I will include calorie counts for my portion of the dishes eaten for anyone who may be interested.

October 3, 2009:

During my weight loss over the last few years, my eating habits have gone from eating anything to portion control and counting calories. Learning a little along the way about nutrition. Then this summer my interest in nutrition grew, when I started helping DH lose weight, the nutrition part became tricky and I had to come up with ways for him (a very picky, non-veggie lover) to eat healthier.

Now I am at a point where I am changing my whole view on food and want to feed my body the best I can with a well balanced diet. I have decided to do a food blog to help me keep track along the way of different healthy foods I make or eat. I have officially stopped recording everything I eat and keep a loose count in my head instead, this blog will help me keep me in a healthy state of mind.

Please excuse the quality of my pictures, I hope to improve my photo taking skills along the way as well.
