Still busy but here’s an update

I CAN NOT WAIT FOR JUNE – work has been crazy with huge changes taking place, but should calm down by the end of the month. Until then my blog post will be sparse as you may have already noticed.

The BFL challenge has been not going as planned since my days have been booked up, but I am getting in what I can. I now look forward to my morning workouts even more, since it is pretty much the only time I get time to myself and they give me a great start to my busy days.

Here is what I have fit in:

Monday 5/3/10 – Jillian Michael’s 30 day shed

Tuesday 5/4/10

4:30am - “Zen in your Den” yoga from ExerciseTV. I woke up cranky and sore so I decide to do the most relaxing yoga flow available on-demand. Felt much better, especially my lower neck area where all my stress goes.

12:30pm – 20 minutes on the elliptical

  • minute 1-2 warm-up level 5
  • minute 3-6 level 6-9
  • minute 7-10 level 7-10
  • minute 11-14 level 8-11
  • minute 15-19 level 9-13
  • minute 20 cool down level 5

Wednesday 5/5/10

4:30am – I couldn’t find my Jillian Michael’s Shed DVD this morning, so I found one of her other workouts (No more Trouble Zones) on ExerciseTV and did that instead. It was a great intense 25min workout. She never disappoints.

Thursday 5/6/10

4:30am – 20min Yogaworks FIT Abs

2:30pm – 20 minutes on the elliptical

  • minute 1-2 warm-up level 5
  • minute 3-6 level 6-9
  • minute 7-10 level 7-10
  • minute 11-14 level 8-11
  • minute 15-19 level 9-13
  • minute 20 cool down level 5

Friday 5/7/10

4:30am - Still couldn’t find my DVD so I did a Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown session from Exercise DVD. It provided a mixture of relaxation with her usual intensified workout and felt great.

10:30am – 3 mi run – great run and I tired to beat the heat, but it was still a hot.

Sunday 5/9/10

1:00pm - 3 mi run – Mother’s day run to clear my mind to deal with a day that wasn’t going as planned. I should have know better then to try to make plans with 2 toddlers, oh well, at least I turned my day around with a nice run.

Monday 5/10/10

4:30am – 20min of Yoga for Women Conditioning – nice start to a new week

2:30pm – 20 minutes on the elliptical increasing all levels by 1, tough but felt great when I finished

  • minute 1-2 warm-up level 6
  • minute 3-6 level 7-10
  • minute 7-10 level 8-11
  • minute 11-14 level 9-12
  • minute 15-19 level 10-14
  • minute 20 cool down level 6

Tuesday 5/11/10

4:30am - 30 Day Shed on Level 2. It was intense and I tried to talk myself into going back to level 1, but remembered I felt similar when I first started the 30 day shed DVD and decided I’d give it another try in 2 days.

Wednesday 5/12/10

4:30am - 20min Yoga for Women mini session from a DVD – It was meant to be slow and more relaxing and it lived up to it’s description. :) I need it after completing

Thursday 5/13/10

4:30am - 30 Day Shed on Level 2 again. Still intense, but a little easier to finish since I knew what to expect this time.

Not many food pics these last 2 weeks:

Trader Joe’s Frozen pizza with a little touch of spinach for a quick dinner:

A new Luna bar snack – very tasty

A much needed and enjoyed, Cinco De Mayo Margarita :) Accompanied by a shrimp Mexican dish

Breakfast scrambled eggs with spinach:

Tri-Nosher from a local restaurant: tuna salad, rocket salad, and curry couscous

Busy Bee

Finally checking in after letting my blog go for over a week. It’s been insane at work and home. DP was sent on a emergency trip to Mexico for work and I became a single mom for 4 1/2 days. So not much time for blogging. I did however keep up with some food pics and my workouts. I am going to just throw them all in one post since I should be spending the time writing documentation for work.

Breakfast – Veggies and Eggs with Whole Wheat sour dough bread:

Pre-blended smoothie: (I forgot to take a picture of the finished product, but it was delicious)

Mellow Mushroom Salad and slice a pizza:

My first cooking experience with Quinoa, curry seasoning, veggies, and Trader Joe’s Pot stickers: (It was very easy to cook and tasty)

Greek Yogurt, with Hemp granola and strawberries:

Leftover Pizza with added spinach and mushrooms:

BBQ chicken, sweet potato fries, and Trader Joe’s garlic bread:

Egg sandwich and fruit:

Workouts:

4/23/10

  • 4:30am with Jillian Michael’s
  • 20 min interval on Stationary bike in the evening

4/24/10

First attempted run with the jogging stroller for the season for about 2.5 miles – I ran about 1.5 miles, then had a fussy toddler on my hands. We were near the park, perfect place to stop for a break. After about 20 minutes at the park I was able to finish about another mile before reaching home with an antsy toddler.

4/25/10

3 mile run around the neighborhood with a 8:50 split time.

For the work week (4/26/10 – 4/30/10), I was unable to fit in the gym, but kept up on my morning workouts switching between yoga and Jillian Michael’s 30 day shed. Then completed nightly 20 minute interval workouts on the stationary bike except Friday night.

5/1/10

Mid day Jillian Michael’s workout followed by a simple 30 min bike workout while the kids napped.

I say I had a pretty good week keeping myself balanced between workouts, eating healthier, dealing with work, and playing single mom.
